For all Keqing might be oblivious to Xiangling’s squealing, it’s entirely possible that their feelings are… pretty similar. As she scouts out the clearing she’d found, her heart beats a frantic— and, honestly, kind of embarrassing— rhythm against her sternum. Xiangling is so casual, so cute, so sweet, and she’s… well. She’s not. Even now that they’re together, those things still manage to trip her up and leave her feeling horribly flustered, sometimes.
By the time that Xiangling makes her way over, she’s managed to calm herself, though. If only by a little bit.
Her gaze flicks down to her wok, and then she scans over the area one last time (just to make sure she’ll have plenty of room to work with, of course!). Then, Keqing nods, brief and decisive.
“I think so.” With a little wave of her hand, she continues, “there should be plenty of space for you to prepare our meal without worrying about any potential fire hazards, and once we pack up your supplies, it should make a nice place to sleep, too. See how the ground is a little softer over here?”
She demonstrates with a tap of her foot; it doesn’t sink into the earth by any means, but it’s not rock-solid, either. That should make their bedroll all the more comfortable, in her humble opinion.
“If you don’t think it’ll work, I can keep looking, of course, but…”
She likes it, right? There’s a hopeful gleam in Keqing’s eye as she trails off, like she’s waiting for Xiangling’s approval.
