Even if, initially, Keqing had held a few… reservations about Xiangling’s unique take on picking out ingredients. These days, though, she’d even choose Wanmin over Liuli Pavilion— and her girlfriend’s presence is only part of the reason why.
From appearance alone, she gets the sense that these Jade Parcels will live up to that reputation, too. The sight of the filling alone is nearly enough to make her mouth water, but Keqing is quick to cover her eagerness by giving Xiangling’s shoulder a little pat— she caught that hesitation!— before withdrawing her hand entirely.
You know, as if the teeny-tint bit of distance she’s putting between them will somehow disguise the way she’s watching Xiangling work, with the starry-eyed amazement of someone who is very much looking forward to her meal.
“They’re not even finished, and they already look good…”
Is she filling the space between them with chatter, or trying to offer another hint of reassurance, in that quiet way of hers? Realistically, it might be a bit of both.
