Just as easily as Xiangling seems to lose herself in cooking their meal, Keqing is absorbed in watching the process; even as the light filtering in around them gets dimmer and dimmer, her gaze is sharp and focused on the skilled movements of her girlfriend’s hands as she prepares the dumplings.
It’s only when her question comes that Keqing remembers to speak— and it’s with a quiet hum that her answer comes:
“I’m pretty sure I could eat as many as you can make.” But, ah… that wouldn’t be fair, would it? The way she says that almost makes it sound like a joke, though, so at least there’s that. “The usual serving at Wanmin is a plate of six, isn’t it? So… why don’t you start me off with that?”
And, ingredients willing, she can pester Xiangling to make another batch, if she’s still left wanting.
