She is almost immediately struck by the fact that Xiangling’s answer isn’t true, and then there’s her fidgeting, and the flush that Keqing can just barely make out in the low light…

“Are you sure? You look a little red, now that I’m thinking about it…”

Is she sick, maybe? It’d be an easy conclusion to jump to, if she hadn’t seemed so… well, fine, up until this moment.

“Besides, if you really are feeling energetic, going to bed this early probably wouldn’t work out too well, would it?”

It’s not that she wants to grill Xiangling, or even that she wants to suspect that she’s hiding something— rather, holding herself back has never been her strongest point, and that natural bluntness of hers translates into a little barrage of questions as she makes an attempt at getting to the bottom of this.

“You know you can always be honest with me, right, Xiangling?”
